Analytics and Innovation Award
On Friday 1 April, the Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme (VKPP) held their virtual conference. As part of this year’s event, the VKPP wanted to recognise the achievements and commitment of police officers, staff, and partner organisations in addressing vulnerability.
The VKPP said, “Working to support and protect vulnerable individuals and communities is a particularly challenging environment subject to intense scrutiny. This represents an opportunity to recognise those who are making a significant difference to vulnerable individuals and communities and highlight the positive work delivered by policing and our partners”.
The TOEX Programme’s national team was recognised, in its entirety, as part of the ‘Analytics and Innovation’ Award in delivering promising, innovative and effective practice in addressing vulnerability.
The VKPP continued, “The TOEX National Team is a significant contributor to the operational and strategic response to serious and organised crime (SOC), delivering real world benefits to complex investigations and operating from local to national.
“They’re at the cutting edge of law enforcement’s response to data exploitation, analytics and intelligence development. In a first for policing, the TOEX cloud-based data platform conflates data and intelligence across nine forces, national and open-source data sets; providing analytical insights and supporting new capabilities, designed by the team to respond to complex investigations.
“Their work has received significant praise from the UK law enforcement community and continues to shape the policing response to SOC. The capabilities have been tested within TOEX investigations and are invaluable time-saving aids for complex investigations, building efficiencies into the investigation process and facilitating the discovery of previously unknown insight.”
